North West Section

The North West Section of the Society of Glass Technology was formed in 1944 by its parent body to serve the concentration of glass interest in that northern region of England and Wales which lies west of the Pennines and east of the sea. It seeks to provide a context in which people who are interested in glass can share their enthusiasms and learn from each other.

Programme

We hold a regular programme of meetings in the St Helens area. If you are able to attend you would be mostwelcome.

Partner Organisations

Many of these meetings are organised in partnership with other organisations, such as the Contemporary Glass Society.

Meeting Venues

Currently some of our meetings are arranged in association with the World of Glass Heritage Centre in St Helens, which provides a most fitting venue.

Some meetings are held at the Pilkington Technical Centre near Ormskirk, and we are grateful to the Pilkington Group Limited for providing the facilities for these meetings.
